About this course

This course provides students with an overview of nonprofit organizations and the environment in which they operate. Students will learn why nonprofits exist, how they operate, and what challenges and opportunities they face. Special attention will be placed on the role that leadership and management play in the success of nonprofit organizations. This course will emphasize theories, accountabilities, government-nonprofit relationships, social movements, philanthropy, and the importance of public-private partnerships.
