For colleges, advising offices and student groups
ChillSemester is a free planning tool for CUNY students, built by a Baruch College student. It helps students arrive at registration with a schedule that works, which means fewer time conflicts, fewer last-minute scrambles for full classes, and fewer questions that land on your desk.
What students get
- Every class at all 26 CUNY campuses, with times, rooms, instructors and open or closed status, read from CUNY's public Global Search.
- Professor numbers from Rate My Professors next to each instructor (ratings only, never review text).
- A schedule builder that finds the combinations without time conflicts and scores how stressful each one is, plus a degree planner.
- A free reminder before a student's registration date. Seat alerts for full classes are the one paid part ($6 Semester Pass); everything needed to plan is free.
What we are asking
- Share it, if you think it helps. A mention on your resources page, newsletter or social accounts is all we are looking for. No fee, no contract, and you can stop any time.
- Correct us. If anything we say about your college is wrong, such as a registration date on our dates page, tell us and we will fix it.
Short description you can copy
ChillSemester is a free, student-built tool for planning a CUNY semester: see which classes have open seats and how professors are rated, build a schedule without time conflicts, and get a registration reminder. Not affiliated with CUNY. chillsemester.com
What we do not do
- We never ask for a student's CUNYfirst login, and we never register for classes. Students always enroll themselves.
- We read public class pages slowly and politely. We do not sell student data, show ads, or send marketing email to people who did not ask.
- We do not claim any partnership or endorsement. The site says “Not affiliated with CUNY” and will keep saying it unless a college agrees otherwise in writing.
The details are on how it works and what we store and in the privacy policy.
We are new, and we say so
ChillSemester launched in October 2026. We do not have testimonials or usage numbers to show yet, and we will not make any up. If it would be useful to your office, we can also share anonymous, combined totals about which classes fill fastest at your college. Questions or corrections: contact@chillsemester.com.
