About this course

Course description: Explores Caribbean literature and literary performance, including from African, Indian/Asian, Amerindian/Taino/Indigenous, and European roots. Analyzes complete novels, short stories, and poetry. Examines the connections between fiction and creative nonfiction, music, history, and culture. Evaluates the literature?s treatment of and response to topics such as identity, language, race, gender, economic/social class, and colonialism.
