About this course
Physical phenomena that relate to music and sound will be examined. Topics includeorigins, nature and transmission of sound waves, sound reception and perception,musical scales and temperament, the physics of different musical instruments, and selected special topics. Demonstration devices are employed for illustration of concepts. (Not open to students who have received credit for PHYS 7.)
