About this course

This course examines economic issues important to the study of international crime and justice. Students will learn to use tools of analysis necessary for understanding market-based crimes including black markets, narcotics, prostitution, money laundering, and trade violations. Students will critically evaluate the justness of the global economic system by examining national macroeconomic objectives and international economics institutions such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and World Trade Organization. Emphasis is placed on poverty, racially divergent and discriminatory outcomes from public policy, inequality, globalization, and environmental sustainability.
