About this course
This course is for students with little or no previous knowledge of Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin Chinese will be introduced through intensive drills of its oral and written forms. Emphasis is placed on speaking and basic grammar as well as on the formation of the characters. It will focus on the most essential language items, such as sound patterns, sentence structures and basic vocabulary, which are useful in everyday Chinese conversation.
