About this course
This course, just a few years old in the CCNY Jewish Studies Program, aims to introduce students to the concept of The Absurd in Jewish culture. Having emerged from a global pandemic and coming of age while bearing witness to continued tragedy around the world seems an apt time to examine such a concept. We will begin the semester by offering some critical and theoretical definitions of ?The Absurd? as it relates to human experience, and we?ll move forward to incorporate Jewish philosophical, literary, cinematic, and religious connections to Absurdity.
