About this course
4 hours; 3 credits Survey of motion pictures from 1895 to 1960. Development of film as an art form and distinctive medium of communication. Relationship of film to other arts and to social and political climates in which cinematic forms and techniques evolved. Prerequisite: Film *1101 [1] or permission of the chairperson.
