Poetry and prose of such writers as Dryden, Pope, Astell, Swift, Johnson, Addison and Steele, Burke, Gray, Wheatley, Wollstonecraft, and Edgeworth. Topics may include: courtship and marriage; education; feminism; political satire; manners and virtue; nature and beauty; the country and the city.Prerequisite: ENGL 1010 [1.7]; co-requisite: ENGL. 1012.
