Microbiology (BIO 4004) at Baruch College has 1 way to take it in Spring 2027, plus 1 recitation or lab time you pair with a lecture. 2 of 2 sections have an open seat right now.
Compare them below, check the days and times, and add the course to your schedule.
This course meets as a lecture plus a lab. Your schedule needs one time from each, and the schedule builder picks them together.
Prerequisite: CHM 3001 (2004, 3100), BIO 3001 (2020) and CHM 3003. Pre/Corequisite: CHM 3006 and Departmental Permission
This course includes a general survey of the microbial world with emphasis on evolutionary relationships, a detailed study of the biology of bacteria, i.e., their morphology, growth, metabolism, replication, genetic mechanisms and ecological roles, and a brief review of current attempts to control harmful microorganisms through sterilization, disinfection, and chemotherapy. Laboratory exercises include staining, enumeration, and identification techniques and provide a firm background in basic microbiological technique. Students are required to undertake a library research project and to present their results in both an oral and written format. For students with two other upper-level (3000 or above) courses in natural sciences. This course may serve as the capstone for the Tier III requirement.
Seat status as of Oct 5, 6:51 AM ET. Seats can change between refreshes. How fresh is this?
