PREREQ or COREQ: CHEM 1144, 1141. PREREQ: A grade of C or better in CHEM 1134, 1131, and MATH 122 (or equivalent)

About this course

Introduction to research techniques in chemistry and biochemistry under the supervision of a member of the department. The purpose of the course is to effect a transition from experiments for which the outcome is known to designing and doing experiments to secure the information necessary to solve a problem for which the outcome is not known. A written report will be submitted to the mentor and a presentation of results is required. This course may be repeated for a maximum of three credits. (Substitution of HMNS 102/291 for 2 semesters of CHEM 291 is permitted with submission of a written report and a presentation for each semester.) This course has a Material and Transportation Fee.
