About this course
This course is the first of a sequence of two core courses in social theory intended to introduce graduate students to some fundamental texts, analytic frameworks, and theoretical debates. Students will learn to examine critically the dominant traditions of social theory out of which, and in relation to which, the discipline of anthropology developed.
