About this course
An in-depth exploration of the rich artistic traditions of Africa through a topical framework. Students will engage with a variety of themes, gaining insights into how art reflects and shapes cultural identities across the continent. Through a mix of discussion, film screenings, critical reading, and site visits, the course highlights historical and political contexts and modern reinterpretations of African art.
