About this course
Breakthroughs in research, made possible by modern technologies, are enabling improvements in health and medicine. In this course you will learn the fundamental concepts of gene structure, expression, and function in the context of the genome and the whole organism itself. Using a model systems genetics approach, the course will cover special topics in genetics, and the techniques used for the modification of genomes to make transgenic organisms. This fundamental knowledge will prepare you to tackle more advanced topics in biomedical sciences.
