About this course

45 hours, 3 creditsThe fundamental principles of the molecular and cellular biology of cancer cells. The role of growth factors, oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, angiogenesis and signal transduction mechanisms in tumor formation. Maintenance of genomic integrity and tumorigenesis. Discussion on recent therapeutic advances in cancer treatment and principles of drug action in cancer management. Prerequisites: A course in genetics or molecular biology or biochemistry.
