About this course

This course introduces students to basic guitar techniques such as posture, hand position, tuning, simple melodies, open position chords, and strumming. Students are introduced to basic music theory including the treble clef, tablature, the fundamentals of rhythm, and the major scale. Guitars are available on loan to enrolled students for the duration of the semester.
