About this course
A chronological and thematic overview of the history of Asian Americans and the formation of the United States from the eighteenth century to the present. Students will explore the history of multi-ethnic Asian American groups in the United States, with a focus on themes such as colonialism, imperialism, immigration, racialization, class, gender, labor, citizenship, gentrification, transnationalism, and urbanism through primary and secondary sources, and material culture.
