About this course
35 hours fieldwork; 6 credits In-depth experience working in a legislative office at the federal level or in, rare cases, public policy in a federal agency or in public policy in select non-governmental organizations. Two-month summer residential internship conducted in Washington, D.C. Requires a working-learning contract between the student and the internship sponsor. Weekly 35-hour internship in selected office working with staff. Practice and development of interpersonal skills and career goals. On-site evaluation, daily journal writing, work log, policy research paper. Prerequisite: Permission of the department chair.
