Major issues in U.S. business history are covered including the rise of the corporation, theories of business evolution, the growth of markets, technologies that revolutionized business and society, the role of entrepreneurs in the growth of the U.S. economy, the professionalization of business practices, the role of workers and labor unions, the role of the state on business and markets, the impact of legal and social institutions on business and society and the unequal access to economic opportunities across different demographic and ethnic groups.
