This course deals with the major political, social, economic, and ideological developments in European history, emphasizing: the impact of the French and Industrial Revolutions; liberalism, nationalism, socialism, and feminism; the revolution of 1848; the unification of Italy and Germany; imperialism; the rise of communism, fascism, and Nazism; and the origins and impact of the two world wars.
