Prerequisite: (PHI 1500 or PHI 1600 or PHI 1700 or SOC 1005) or (Social Innovation Minor with 1 course from the Weissman elective list and 1 course from the Marxe elective list)
About this course
This course addresses the ways in which individuals, through their businesses and other activities, can pursue opportunities to catalyze social change and address pressing, unmet social and environmental needs. Students will develop their own ?Theories of Change? that articulate how they intend to transform patterns of thought, behavior, social relationships, institutions, and social structures to generate beneficial outcomes for communities, organizations, and/or the environment. The course explores social and environmental issues, and challenges students to discover and identify entrepreneurial opportunities to create sustainable change.
