The use of I/S by organizations to gain competitiveadvantage. Alternative methods for positioning, structuring, andcontrolling information systems for effectiveness and efficiency. I/Splanning strategies and methodologies; roles for steering committees.Emphasis on the strategic (or long-term) aspects of the I/S function,within the organization, in its dealing with suppliers, competitors, andcustomers/clients, and in its impact on society.Prerequisite: Computer and Information Science 7500X [757X].
