3 hours; 3 creditsCritical examination of issues in personal ethics. Moral obligations to self, family, friends, love partners, neighbors, schoolmates, coworkers. Autonomy and integrity; responsibility and special obligation. Discussion of such topics as suicide, substance abuse, marriage, divorce, love and sex, parent-child relations, surrogacy, gambling, lying, and cheating. Conceptions of family, work, and leisure. Classical and contemporary philosophers.
