About this course
3 hours plus independent laboratory work; 4 creditsHands-on, quantitative course introducing field and laboratory research methods in biological anthropology and archaeology, including methods for capturing and quantifying the morphology of anthropological specimens and artifacts. Students will conduct their own field, laboratory or literature-based research projects to get experience in study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, and effective communication of research. Case studies and student projects help place these methods in scientific context. Writing intensive section.Prerequisites: ENGL 1012; Anthropology 1200 or 1400 or 3230 or 3240 or permission of department chair.
