45 hours; 3 creditsIntroduction to the major theoretical approaches to analysis of individual behavior in organizational settings. Primary focus is on distinctive interpretations of individual behavior in a group and organizational context. The consequences for organizational behavior and human resource management. Topics: person/role boundary; work systems; nature of leadership and authority; work attitudes (job satisfaction, job involvement, and organizational climate); motivational traits and environments; job performance; ethics.Prerequisite: Permission of the graduate deputy chairperson.
