About this course
This course serves as an introduction to chemistry through anexploration of the underlying chemical principles of black and whitephotography. The course material will be delivered through interactiveclassroom lectures, discussions, and laboratory exercises. Topicsinclude the definition and classification of matter, atomic theory,bonding, structure and properties of silver halide crystals used inphotographic film, and the role of oxidation-reduction and acid-basereactions in photographic development.CUNY Pathways: Required Core-Life & Physical Sciences
