About this course

3 hours; 3 credits This course uses principles of finance and investments to help students understand modern financial markets and institutions. Central themes are the structure of financial markets, their pricing function, the interaction between financial markets and institutions, macroeconomic conditions, and the process of financial innovation and regulation in these markets. This course guides students through various markets and helps them analyze the asset and liability structures, and operations of financial institutions. (Not open to students who have completed FINC 7250X). Prerequisite: Finance 3310
