English Proficiency Index of 50-64. Or 46-55 on the CUNY Assessment Test in Writing, and/or 46-54 on the ACCUPLACER Reading Test. Or grade of 'S' in 090W without writing proficiency and/or grade of 'S' in 090R without reading proficiency.

About this course

Reading, writing, and conducting research in multiple genres to learn genre awareness and transferable writing skills. Develop strategies for composing in contemporary environments through practice and revision of project-based assignments. Two supplemental hours of instruction for reading comprehension, critical thinking, the structured writing process, grammar and punctuation conventions, notetaking and study skills.
