About this course
This course focuses on the purpose and mission of a particular placement site that all students will work at over the course of the semester. Students will make connections between academic concepts, contemporary news, and the professional experiences learned at their internships, understanding and engaging with the possibilities and limits of theoretical concepts explaining real-world phenomena. The emphasis of the course is a synthesis of the students? classwork and guided observations and tasks in the placement site, linking academic lessons to professional experiences. Students work at the assigned placement site, attend class regularly, and must complete regular writing assignments.Note: Students will be provided with an internship site where they must complete a minimum of 96 hours. Students can repeat this course once for a maximum of 6 credits provided placement sites differ.
