Prerequisite: PAF 90010

About this course

In this doctoral-level research course, EdD students study a wide range of research designs and data collection tools for higher education practitioner-scholars. As is done in each of the EdD research sequence courses, students in this course both study the research process and apply their new knowledge and research skills to their own work as practitioner-scholars in training. Here students learn about the mechanics, benefits, and limitations of different research design and data collection tools. They also consider the structural challenges of conducting research in the field of higher education. By the end of the course, EdD students will have identified a research design and accompanying set of data collection tools that are appropriate and practicable for studying the problem of practice they have identified for their Dissertation in Practice.
