About this course
3 hours; 3 creditsAnalysis of ethical issues pertaining to computers and the workplace,anonymity and privacy, copyright and patent law (as applied tosoftware), computer crime, security, unauthorized use, codes ofconduct for computer professionals, access and availability ofcomputing technologies. Application of theoretical frameworks such asvirtue ethics, deontological theories and utilitarianism to the ethicalproblems encountered in computing technologies. Writing intensivecourse. (This course is the same as Computer and Information Science2820W.)Prerequisite: Core 5.1 or Core Curriculum 1312 [3.12] or Computer and Information Science 1000 [1.0] or Computer and Information Science 1110 [1.5] or 1115, and English 1012 [2].
